TipBit
TipBit is a standalone payment platform to streamline business on the go. As the world moves from primarily contact payments, like cash and card payments, to contactless transactions, TipBit focuses on the Tap-to-pay experience in developing countries.
The TipBit's versatility lies in the modular system that allows the device to be counter-top mounted, wrist- or lanyard worn. This makes the device ideal for the target market - informal businesses that may not have permanent point of sales setups. The device features a simple interface and UX design that securely integrates with the TipBit payment portal on the user's smartphone. The device can be charged using the USB-C port and is designed for minimal power consumption, allowing for days of use without charging.
Initial Concepts
The concept ideation phase focused on two aesthetic directions - one depicting speed, perfomance and technological supremacy, the other minimalistism, simplicity and abstraction.
The Final Concept
The final concept integrated the two with emphasis on the softer, approachable features of the latter.
