5 Design Events We Wish We Could Visit in February 2023.

Bangkok Design Week 4-12 Feb 2023

Bangkok Design Week features talks, workshops, showcases, tours, exhibitions and creative markets within the lens of ‘urban’NICE’zation’.

With discussion topics around revitalizing the city and green spaces, sustainability, urban mobility, and building urban environments that enhance cultural expression, diversity, happiness and economic growth, this event tackles topics at the core of current great design problems.

This event, that runs from 4-12 February, is Southeast Asia’s largest design festival, featuring more than 2’000 participants and hosting over 400’000 visitors every year. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for any events that can be accessed virtually. See Bangkok Design Week for more details.

Stockholm Design Week 6-12 Feb 2023

Organised by Stockholm Furniture Fair, this festival features more than 100 local Scandinavian furniture brands, studios and museums, as well as 100s of other international participants.

The Stockholm Design Week interactive app guides you through all the events and activities of the week.

Madrid Design Festival 14 Feb-12 Mar 2023

The month-long Madrid Design Festival hosts a multitude of talks, forums, exhibitions, workshops and showrooms, and spans multiple mediums including architecture, industrial design, graphic design, interior design, furniture design and education.

The event places a welcome focus on exploring the significance of design work in improving people’s daily lives and addressing the great challenges of our time. See Madrid Design Festival for more details.

Object Rotterdam 10-12 Feb 2023

Object Rotterdam returns to the iconic HAKA-building in the Dutch city for their 11th annual design fair. Object presents a unique platform for designers to exhibit design label products as well as limited editions and one-offs.

Covering several design disciplines and various materials, Object melds together design, crafts, fashion, architecture and art to amuse design-, interior- and art-lovers alike. See Object Rotterdam for more details and follow @objectrotterdam for program updates.

Anchorage Design Week 23-26 Feb 2023

Anchorage Design Week’s first of two annual sessions sees the creative community gather to share design perspectives, expertise and inspirations. The event focusses on celebrating Northern winter landscapes and promotes the reimagining of the city and lifeways of Northern Regions.

Both this ANC Design Week winter session and the summer session in August offer in-person and virtual events to allow widespread participation, even for those of us who can’t make it. Follow @anchoragedesignweek for program updates.

With the event planned around the time when guests arrive for Alaska’s annual Fur Rendezvous Festival and Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, this creative festival is also the perfect excuse for an extended stay to experience that Alaskan life which will be addressed during Anchorage Design Week.
